Our Story
Sunflower Sundries is a small family-run business rooted in the passion and vision of founder Jennifer Gleason. Since 1992, we’ve been guided by the motto “Local Food for Local Folks,” growing from a simple idea into a thriving cottage industry that brings together family, friends, and neighbors.

What began as Jennifer’s homemade gifts—jams, soaps, mustards, and pickles—quickly turned into a beloved tradition. When her family and friends wanted more than just a holiday treat, Jennifer turned her lifelong passion into a full-time farm business.
Today, Sunflower Sundries is a diversified organic farm that operates with a global perspective on sustainability. We grow all our fruits and vegetables without chemicals, using methods like composting, crop rotation, cover cropping, seed saving, and low tillage. Everything we harvest is turned into a finished product—fruits become jams, vegetables become pickles, and heirloom corn becomes grits, hominy, and chips.

We grow a wide range of crops including rhubarb, asparagus, gooseberries, wild blackberries, okra, garlic, horseradish, herbs, flowers, and of course—sunflowers! And when we need more, we source from a trusted network of ten local farmers who share our commitment to quality and sustainability.
At the heart of our farm is a charming Soap Shop beside our 1870s farmhouse. Here, we handcraft herbal soaps in 1,500-bar batches, run a small retail store, and prepare all of our food products in our on-site commercial kitchen. Our property also includes open fields and wooded trails, perfect for a peaceful walk or quiet reflection.

Now sold across the USA—both retail and wholesale—our products remain true to their roots: handmade, high-quality, and created with care by Jennifer and her team, using the same traditional recipes and only the best local ingredients.
From our farm to your table—it’s not just a business, it’s a way of life.
