Gooseberries are an old-fashioned fruit that once were very common along with black currants and rhubarb. We grow five varieties of gooseberries on our farm. The translucent lime green fruits, veined, and blushed with rose color, are a tart/sweet favorite in jams, pies, and conserves in Europe. Hand-poured in 9.6 ounce glass jars, and labeled with the date it was put in the jar, not the date it expires. Unopened jars will last at least two years on the shelf. An opened jar will last 6-8 weeks in the refrigerator.
